Alicia's 25th Birthday: Champers and Sharks, Shrimp and Surfing, followed by a whole lotta drinking

As we all know, Alicia's Birthday may as well be a National Holiday as it is quite important for her. All day long her phone was blowing up with Happy Birthday phone calls and texts. She loves it.

No birthday would start off properly, if it was not started with Champagne (or Champers as I've taken to call it)

The bottle took some opening, but we got it eventually.
Then we were on our way to the North Shore.

Obivously, the North Shore is the Northern part of Oahu (the island we are on) . Alicia had asked earlier for her birthday if we did this thing called Swimming with the Sharks. Basically, you go out 3 miles from shore until you arrive at this cage just floating in the ocean:

These waters are places where crabbers go to lay their traps. Apparently, over the past 40 years or so, the sharks have become conditioned to the occurrence of extra chum and food getting thrown into the water after the crabbers haul up their traps. Thus, all a boat needs to do is pull up and the sharks just come and wait.

Sharks are all in the water:

They throw a bottle in to get them to surface as if it's food!
They literally just flocked to the boat
And then you get into cage:

This was the first group: 2 huge dudes like each 250-300lbs and 6'2" were the biggest babies. The couldn't hang on to the cage properly, so when the ocean got strong they'd be flying all over the cage and smashing into those two other girls who went with them. Such Wimps!

Every group of 4 (me, Crips, Alicia, and some rando) gets 20mins to see the sharks. We bought an underwater disposable camera to take some photos. We should have each had out own camera. Alas....still some good shots:

It was exhilierating and terrifying and so fun. The ocean would get rough and you would be knocked all around and that's when it would get scary because maybe your arm or foot would fly out of the cage right as a shark was coming by. Now these shakrs aren't really interested in human beings. They eat smaller stuff, so there's nothing to really worry about but, still, they are giant wild predators.

Afterwards, we went and got shrimp from a shrimp truck:

Sneaky Pic of Merriment
And I got a garlic hot dog that was amazing.

Then we went to the Pipeline beach to watch the surfers, but they were all done for the day because the tide had gone out. Sad Face.

But we did make a new friend:

I named him Sparky, and he just came over and laid with us for a bit, and then went back over to the girls he came with.

Then we drove home and I got some cool snapshots of the mountains.

I made a Lemon cake (Alicia's Favorite!) with Buttercream frosting. Sadly, there was no food coloring around, so the cake turned out plainer than I had wanted. Orginally, I wanted to make a cake of NYC, saying 'NYC misses You' but my cake was falling apart, and I had no colors, so I just made three separate little cakes representing the islands of Hawaii. It turned out nicely. We sang Happy Birthday, and then went drinking.
.

All in All an Awesome Alicia Birthday!!!!

San Francisco to Hawaii...fast paced, but great times and good pics

In San Francisco, I had a lot of fun. Did a lot of differnt gay stuff. Some very mainstream like going to the Castro while also doing counterculture things like hangning with the radical faeries or visiting a famous leather shop.

My last night there had me going to an underwear party. I bought some really cute underwear as can be seen below:

This was supposed to be a wink picture, but I couldn't get the .gif to work.

I was drunk and when I got there things got E-tense. Which I have only tried a few times before, but it's just OK to me, nothing that great. Maybe I need to take more. Just like how I discovered jellyfish taste like the sea when I took a bunch of shrooms. Party was meh, but I danced and there were a few cute boys and then met the guy who created Checked In on Facebook. It was cool.

Woke up he next day and went shopping with Mischa and his brother and his brother's girlfriend. I got some cool duds.

I actually did not buy this vest or hat. But the glasses I got in LA, and I got a different type of vest at this same store. Way Fun!

Then I had to come home to pack.

For those who don't know, I brought hella hella stuff. I am overweight at every check in. I must refold everything flat and small and I must line my winter jacket with all the hoodies and sweaters and heavy clothes i can to lighten the load. It takes like an hour and a half, but it must be done.

I finished packing, hung out with Mischa and had a final It's-It and Fat Tire beer before the cab came, took me to the airport, and then flew to Hawaii. Alicia, Kelly, and Josh picked me up, and we got home at like 10.30.

We chatted for a bit and then went to bed. The next morning, we are all up at 7 so Alicia can drop us at a trail leading to this Waterfall:

Then we kept climbing the mountain until we got to the top.

Along the way Kelly did dangerous things as Kelly is wont to do:

We come back and start drinking and watching Gossip Girl. Alicia made plans for us that to go to karaokee that night. She reserved a private room, which at first was odd to me, Kelly, and Josh because half the fun of karokee is watching the other drunk people do it.

But  it actually turned out to be way better and soooooooooooo much fun:

Got to bed at like 1am, me on the floor, Josh on the couch, Kelly and Alicia in Alicia's bed.

We are up 7am the next day to get ready for the beach. The beach we go to is called Sandy Beach (I know real orignal name Hawaii!!!), but it is known for having caused the most broken backs and necks. And it's no wonder because we went into that water and it is terrifying. It was like the time we floated down the James river and got tossed about by the current. That was an easy death just like this was.

But I fought the ocean and didn't become a statistic, even though as we were leaving an ambulance was pulling up to help out another soul.

But aside from the crazy water, there was so much beauty around.

Not to mention opportunity to take sneaky pictures of boys. Quit your judgment.

After the beach was over, we needed to take the bus back and this motherfucker was just not coming. It was fucking ridiculous.

So I got Kelly to ask these dudes who were getting ready to leave across from the bus stop.

Turns out they were going our way.

Turns out also that he sold weed, just when I was looking for some. And now that I have been from coast to coast and have sparked some of the finest greenage, I will have to say that the Island Weed is undeniably wonderful.

It tastes good and gets the job done.

I also bought a cermaic cigarette thing which is amazing and something I can't wait to take back to NYC.

Anyways, we get dropped off nearby and then got ready to kayak to a bar. Alicia lives on a Marina:

So water is her backyard and her house is equipped with two kayaks. Jelly doubles up in one, and I in another. We kayak along the waterways until we reach a bar. I've never kayaked before but it was unbelieble. I want one.

Here's the outdoor bar:

Needless to say I got sunburnt and it sucked, but all in all an amazing first two days!

San Francisco Highlights

One of the best things about San Francisco is this little doll right here:

It's called an It's-It. And it is a scoop of ice cream, be it mint, vanilla, or cappucino, and this scoop is put between two oatmeal cookies, and that amalgamation is then dipped in dark chocolate that hardened all around it. San Fran was an enemy to sticking to my diet. I ate like a freak because ish was so good. Must have had 3 of these easy.

Another amazing thing was that I kept getting things for free.

Not that I was trying, but people would literally forget to charge me.

Case the First

Out to dinner with Mischa and company. I have 3 or 4 drinks because they were cheap. I also had a giant burger and salad that was vundurvull. The place was called Cafe Flore. Anyways, go to buy my last drink and decide to pay my tab and the bartender is like

"Well we have your Credit Card, but we don't have your tab."
And I'm not saying anything.
You know, to see where he's taking this.
"That's OK, just pay for this one and it's fine."
Obvi had no problem with that. Tipped him like $7 on the $3 drink I had.

Second Case

Getting a taxi cab was fun. Mischa has an app that contacts one on his iPhone and they come. It's nuts. So the taxis have names, and I chose the one that was TaxiDead Kennedys. Taxi driver was a cool guy who talked a mile a minute.

It was superbowl Sunday, so two white males are socially forced to discuss the Game. We start chatting about who wants who to win. Visiting Pittsburgh has really given me a love for Black and Yelllow Black and yellow. Anyways, we are talking, and we get to the highway and he realizes that he hadn't turned on the meter, but just shrugs it off and starts it there.

My ride was $25 when it should have been $40, so I gave him a $10 tip cause ya gotta give back.

Second Second Case

I'm on the plane from San Francisco to Hawaii, so I still consider this in the realm of "San Francisco Hooks Me Up" Theory, but they come around with drink and snack service, and I have a five hour flights and needed to have a dinner, so I asked for the cheese and vegetable snack. This costs $6 which is a rip off but they have your nuts when you're hungry in the air.

I take out my credit card and have it in my hand, he hands me the snack, I take it, he hands me water, I take it, I turn back around, and he has moved on to the next aisle, and I have not paid.

San Fran was hot!

LA.....spontaneous fun

I went to Santa Barbara, and I will post something about it later on. Part of my trip to SB was a drive to LA. Megan and I stayed with her friend Jeff.

We arrived late Friday night and just chilled and went to bed early. The next morning we went to a little market down the street.

Firstly, I have this shirt I got at H & M. I wore it out that morning.

We walked around the little market and I bought some sunglasses. Then we each got Crepes. I should have taken a picture of the description because it was amazing. There was spinach and some fake meat and a bunch of other veggies, and it was huge. Anyways, we sat on a fountain side to eat the, and then a woman comes and sits next to me.

Not twenty minutes before this photo was taken did I tell  Megan and Jeff that my mother said My shirt was a ladies shirt. I said it was in the men's section of H & M, but she still said it was a ladies shirt. Then, as we eat, this woman sits down next to me and basically confirms my mom's analysis. DAMN! Of course I posed for the photo. We all got a kick out of it since I literally was just talking about it.

I was getting really hot in long pants and a long shirt, so I went back to Jeff's place to change. While we were there, Megan and I noticed a face painting stand and we inquired as to the pricing. $2 was a fair price for that, so we said we would be back after I changed into something less hot.

When we finally get back, the two girls, dressed as faeries, were closing up. We asked if they would paint us, and thankfully they said they would. On the way down, I asked Megan what we should get. She said we will look at their book of what they can do. I said, what if they don't have that book. Megan told me that they would def have a book. Of course, they didn't have a book, so the first matching face paint that came to mind was Merpeople:

Megan wanted a slutty one

I named this faerie Gwinhylda.

I wanted a dignified, King Tritoni-ish, merman. I feel G.Hylda did a great job.

Don't forget to notice what sealed the deal: FAERIE GLITTER!!!! (only around the magical trident obvi)

Afterwards, even though they were closing down, I asked Gwinhylda if she would do one on my arm. The whole time I was thinking lightning with a rattlesnake in front of it.

But once I asked for it I changed my mind:
There's my snake

G.H.'s faerie magic then transformed an ordinary snake into...

A GOD!!!!

The best part was that when I described it, my faerie got so excited, and was like ' OK I can do this!' She was great.

I wore it the whole day, even out to the club that night. Meg wore hers for most of the day, but washed it off before:

AMY BROWN came over to play Kings!!!! So fun!

I will immortalize the rules we used that evening, as I am ever forgetting those rules:

2 -You (pick a person to drink)
3 - Me (you drink)
4 - Whores (Girls Drink)
[in other rules, a 4 represents Siempre Mas: everyone screams SIEMPRE!  clinks glasses and drinks]
5 - Jive (Last one to Dance drinks)
 6 - Dicks (Dudes Drink)
7 - Heaven (Last one to point to the Sky drinks)
8 - Pick a Date (whenever you drink, your date must drink)
9 - Bust a Rhyme (rhyme with the word the picker starts with)
10 - Evolution
[After all the Evolution Cards were taken, there was a point where no one else was in the room, so me and Megan snuck them all back in, and it was marvelous]
Jack - Never Have I Ever
[There was a Texts From Last Night that talked about really slutty girls, and how they couldn't play this game. Instead they had to play Rarely Have I Ever]
Queen - Question Game
King - Make a Rule
Ace - Waterfall

We went out dancing afterwards. When in SB, I bought this jacket:
And left it at the club. BUT WAIT!!! I called the next day and they had it. No one took it, so Jeff is mailing it back to NYC for me.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

xoxo,
kk

From Diary to Highlights: San Francisco -- A Very Gay Time

Apologies all around for the earlier posts. I realize now that I was making this blog more into a log. And if I wanted a log of everything I thought and did, then that would be a diary. And diaries are fun, mainly for the person who wrote it.

Instead, I will know be just giving the awesome highlights of my trip.

A scene from last night:
Kevin holds camera up to ceiling to take picture of theatre ceiling

Mischa: You know you look like such a tourist right now
Kevin: Mischa, once you participate in a Ritualized Circle Jerk, you don't really care about looking like a tourist.
Mischa: That's the beginning of a story right there

San Francisco has been incredible.  Mainly the boys are what do it. However, when I got here, I did not have my luggage. It was left in Santa Barbara. To give the airline credit though, I got it by 4pm the next day, so not too bad.

Went out that night to a few bars with this boy. One bar had $1 well drinks, so I obvi had like 7. Had fun and danced and everything. Before we went out, he told me I couldn't spend the night at his place because he had work in the morning. I told him I wasn't planning on spending the night at his place because I'm not trying to be Captain Slutty my first day in San Fran.  We hit it off real well, so that decree was not followed.

Went back to his place, and OMFG it's the nuttiest thing. He works for an Urban Development company, and they bought this old hotel that they can't rent out for another few months, so they are housing some of the workers. My boy happened to be one of them, and staying on the first floor. So you walk in the door and it looks like this:

Alternate view:

Anyways, the stairs lead into two different huge old hotel rooms. One he has fashioned into his closet, the other his room. The bathrooms are huge, each with jacuzzis in them. There was even an old bar. Basically, the place is like a ghost hotel with all the stuff still in it, but no one still in it. It's hot.

Walked home and had a lovely day.

Next day, I hang with another guy, named Seven. He invites me to this radical faerie get together. They are celebrating the festival of Imbrolc. Met a lot of cool dudes. Radical faeries are a different essence of sexuality and culture. An explanation here would be too long, but they are def cool people. They also like to have different sorts of names. As I said, the guy I was with was named Seven. I also met a guy named Pink Feather and another guy named Storm.

Now, Storm is fucking awesome. After the celebration part of Imbrolc (a story that is meant for in-person only....hint: see the conversation above), I was hanging out with Storm who happens to read Tarot. I don't rely on Tarot, but I do find it interesting, and many times a Tarot reading, for me, has made me more confident or shed more light on something I didn't understand. I put no 100% trust in anything because I can't know truth like that, but I think tasting and dabbling in all different sorts doesn't hurt anything.

Anyways, Storm was awesome because he read Tarot with a deck of X-Men playing Cards. For anyone who knows me, Magneto is like a personal hero of mine. I love him so much. Thus, I had to get a reading. My reading was awesome. A lot of it was spot on and made complete sense as to what is going on in my life. Maybe I will post a post on what he read and like link it or some shit in case people wanna know, but I also may just say fuck it.

Here's what it looked like:

There's his card off to the side there.

All in all....two awesome encounters....two awesome nights.

Also, the weather is amazing. I'm in shorts and a tank right now.

You should be looking forward to future postson topics, including, but not discluding:
